Interview with Georg Dolivo from Rhino Bucket
February 26th, 2006
1. When will Rhino Bucket come to play to Finland?
There are no plans at the moment. We're working on American tours right now and if all goes well, there may be
a window to go over to Finland.
Europe for sure and hopefully Finland.
2. When did you start playing?
I started playing guitar when I was 11 years old.
3. What gauge strings and picks do you prefer?
I use a pretty heavy set (.13 - .17 - .26w - .36 - .46 - .56) and a damn thick pick (1.52 mm).
4. 3 favourite albums of all time? (at least one)
"Exile on Main Street" Rolling Stones
"Let There Be Rock" AC-DC
"Face To Face" The Angels (Angel City in the USA)
5. What ever happened to Greg Fields?
He is now a recording engineer and producer and doing very well. Still a part of the family!
6. Have you ever recorded any cover songs?
No, we've got enough of our own.
7. Which environment works best for you to write songs?
The environment doesn't really matter as long as I have the time to keep working at it until I'm through.
8. Who is Georg Dolivo?
Uuhhhh, that would be me. No deep philosophical questions please, I just don't have the patience anymore.
9. Craziest situation on/off stage?
None that I can mention anymore, I've got kids and they know how to surf the internet. :-)
10. What do you like to do on your freetime?
Sleep and watch my favorite football (soccer) team, Manchester United.
11. How did you come up with "and then it got ugly" title?
Reeve actually came up with that. I think it's a great title!
12. Rate the following Rhino Bucket albums on a scale
of 1 to 10. 1 being something that sucks and 10 being
something you think is perfect.
Rhino Bucket
Get Used To It
Pain
And Then It Got Ugly
Nothing is ever perfect but every one of these was labor of love. I'm proud of every one of them. Having said that, I must admit
I really do think the new one, "And Then It Got Ugly" is the best we've ever done. You be the judge.
13. Which 2 guitarists would make "so called" dreamteam?
For me, I'm there already with what Brian and I are doing now in Rhino Bucket.
14. What would be your job if not musician?
I don't know, this is all I've ever done.
15. How would you describe a live show from Rhino Bucket?
Loud, honest and hopefully, a lot of fun!
16. Best live show you've seen / would like to see?
I saw a singer called Ruby Wilson in 1991 in Memphis, TN at BB King's Blues Club. She was great and her band
was just incredible. Rocked my world!
17. Craziest rumour you heard about yourself?
That I was dead . . .
18. Favourite song to play live?
"She's a Screamer" from the second CD.
19. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Playing and talking about new Rhino Bucket CD which at that point should be about record number 10! :-)
20. What equipment you use?
I use PRS Guitars exclusively. Nothing else comes close for me. I plug into a Boss TU-12H tuner and then
into a Mesa Boogie MKII C+ amp and run that through two EV Black Shadow 200 watt speakers.
It's the same rig that I've been using for a long time. Like my friend always said, "If it works, don't fix it."
Here you go! Thanks for the interview . . .
